Who we are
Oakbridge Law, Corporate and Commercial Law Chambers, 48 Lavelle Road, Bengaluru 560001, India ("Oakbridge Law", "we", "us") operates oakbridgelaw.co. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), we are the Data Fiduciary for personal data collected through this website.
What we collect
Enquiry form: your name, email address, organisation (optional), practice area of interest (optional), the content of your message, the date and time of submission, the date and time you gave consent, and the IP address from which the form was submitted.
Spam prevention: when a submission is blocked by our automated checks, we record the IP address, the reason it was blocked, and the time. We do not store the message in that case.
Your browser: we store a single preference in your browser's local storage recording that you accepted the Bar Council disclaimer, so it is not shown on every visit. It is not sent to us.
We do not use advertising cookies, analytics or tracking technologies on this website.
Why we use it
We use enquiry details only to read and respond to your enquiry, to assess whether we can act for you (including conflict checks required by our professional obligations), and to keep a record of correspondence. IP addresses are used only to protect the website from spam and abuse.
We process this data on the basis of the consent you give when submitting the form. We do not sell your personal data or use it for marketing without your separate consent.
Who we share it with
Your enquiry is accessible only to members of the chambers who need it to respond. We use service providers who process data on our behalf, namely our website hosting provider and our email provider, which delivers enquiry notifications to our inbox. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.
This website loads fonts from Google Fonts, and the Contact page embeds a Google Map. When these load, your browser connects directly to Google, which receives your IP address under its own privacy policy.
We may disclose personal data where required by law, by a court or regulator, or to establish or defend legal claims.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and to meet our professional and legal record-keeping obligations, after which they are deleted. Records of blocked submissions are deleted automatically after 90 days.
How we protect it
Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored on access-controlled servers. Access to enquiries requires authentication and is restricted to authorised personnel.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may: request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed; ask us to correct, complete, update or erase it; withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect processing already carried out); nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity; and raise a grievance with us.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@oakbridgelaw.co with the subject line "Privacy request". We will respond within the period prescribed under the DPDP Act and its rules. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Each enquiry records the version of the notice that applied when it was submitted.
